History of the Breed: The Finnish Spitz originated in Finland and these Spitz-type dogs can be traced back several thousand years.
This small Spitz breed developed on it's own as a hunter and was bred as a gun dog in the 19th century. They have been used to hunt bear and
elk, today the breed is used by sportsman for bird hunting. The Finnish Spitz is the national dog of Finland.
General Appearance: The Finnish Spitz is a member of the Spitz family, which includes breeds like the Siberian Husky, Keeshond,
Pomeranian, and the Samoyed. The Finnish Spitz should have a very chiseled and sharp appearance, with a face and expression resembling that
of a fox and the typical Spitz like tail that curls over the back.
