History of the Breed: The English Foxhound is a scent hound and originated in the late 16th century to hunt fox in packs. The breed
was created by mixing various hounds with the Greyhound, the Fox Terrier, and the English Bulldog.
General Appearance: A medium sized dog athletic and well muscled and slightly longer than tall, with a large head pronounced
brow, long very wide nose with open nostrils. The hound ears are rounded and are set low and hang. The body is covered in a short dense
hard coat. The dog has long shoulders and long straight legs with small feet that are cat-like. The body is completed with a long tail
that is tapered and carried high.
