History of the Breed: An ancient breed dating back 3000 years. Likely originated through a crossing of Northern European hunting dogs
and the ancient Chow Chow. Another belief is that the Chinese Foo Dog could be the missing link between that of the Chinese Wolf and the Chow Chow.
The name foochow is likely named after the city of Foochow (now Minhow) in southeast China, the breed is thought to bring good luck. The Chinese
Foo Dog is the mascot of the Tongs a secret Chinese association. The Tong bred and kept the Chinese Foo Dog as a symbol of its organization.
General Appearance: Northern type dog, compact and square-like in profile with a deep chest and a short body with Spitz type prick ears.
This breed is available in three sizes; Toy, Miniature, or Standard versions. The tail is carried over its back like a typical Spitz breed.
