History of the Breed: A large dog of Mastiff origin with an old history that dates back 4ooo years with the Nomadic Turkmen. This working dog serves as a protector of the herd and family. This breed developed through natural selection and is not a man made breed. These dogs are indigenous to the Central Asian Republics of the former USSR specifically: Turkmenistan, Tadijikistan, Kirgizstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Iran and its surrounding regions.

General Appearance: A large dogs with Massive bone structure. A distinguished dewlap. Blunt Shaped Muzzle. Cropped ears and docked Tail

Height & Weight:
Height 24-32 inches
Weight 90-175 lbs.

Coat: Two coat lengths; short and medium length, well developed undercoats

Color: White, black, black & white, brindle, red, gray, straw, tri-colored, black and tan

Grooming needs: Low

Temperament of Breed: A protective breed that is interactive, social & playful within the family unit. As a livestock protector they are naturaly suspicious with a strong distrust of strangers and strange animals.
Friendly with children: Yes, friendly with family however, proper socialization is recommended when introducing strangers.
Friendly with other dogs: yes, when properly socialized, as a livestock protector they are naturaly suspicious.

Suitability as a watchdog: Yes, excellent. Can also serve as a guard dog
