History of the Breed: The breed is a pointing dog, Vizsla in Hungarian means pointer and can be traced back to the 10th century in what
is today known as Hungary. The Vizsla was likely bred from the Transylvanian pointer and the German Weimaraner and possibly other native Pointers.
The breed is unique to the Hungarian field "Land of the Magyars" and was a favorite dog of early barons and warlords.
The Vizsla is one of the five national breeds of dogs in Hungary it is a cautious dog of superior nose and hunting ability and possesses the
best assets of the pointer and retriever.
General Appearance: A medium-sized, lightly built, solid golden rust short-coated hunting dog of refined appearance.
Coat: Coat can be wired or Smooth and is about 1.5 inches long.
